Everything is madness at the moment, boxes everywhere. Pets and children all packed away ready for the move on Monday. Lets hope the weather stays fine(dry at least). We have already purchased our new property(picked up the keys yesterday) so at the moment we own two houses!!!
Moving house is very much like going insane, only it happens at a much faster rate.

I was just checking out BBC On-line (as you may have noticed I do from time to time) when I saw this article British 'al-Qaeda suspect' held. Now this may not be of much significance to your good selves but I found it very significant as I live in Gloucester (although not for much longer, see previous entry).
You go about your daily life watching and listening to the news and all the horror that terrorism brings, but when it appears on your doorstep it makes you think about the issues a lot more deeply than before.

Emily had her 9 month check today (although she is now 10 months old!)
She weighs 24lb 12oz.
This means that whilst she is still at the top end of the weight chart she is also at the top of the height chart, so the word we are looking for here is proportion.
She has put on 2lb since the 30th September so a 1lb a month increase which seems fine to me. I would be quite happy if I had just put on 2lb in the last 2 months!

I have added a link to Robert Cringely's weekly column, as I find him a very good read, take a look.

.... and the answer is here my friends, contained in the entry from the 25th of April. A bit hard maybe, but hey it was for a good cause. Thanks to all those that emailed!

--------

I may not be posting over the next week or so as we are moving house at the start of December. Wish us luck.

pudsey bearIt is time once again for the annual Children in Need appeal. In honor of this event I have placed the image that you see on the left somewhere else on this site. For everyone who emails me with the correct location I will donate £1 to Children in Need. Plus you will get a mention in this here blog and your fame and fortune will be assured.

Click here for a clue if you are struggling through this vast site.

All of you that managed to see yesterday's great entry regarding the whole Bush/Blair/Simpsons thing, well done because as you may have noticed it is no longer there. I deleted it by mistake.....Doh!

I am very sad, in a few weeks time I shall be returning to dial-up internet access :-(
I have been using Telewest's Blueyonder cable modem set up and have found both the speed and reliability very good.
Come the start of December I shall be moving house and Telewest cable is not avaliable in this area. The thought of using dial-up again fills me with dread. I could use BT to supply BB access but the cost and service are too unreliable.
So with this in mind I felt even worse when I read this article.

I am with Gary on this one, a most excellent piece of music which I myself purchased on 12" (i.e. pre CD,MP3,WAV etc)

Found myself contemplating about signing up for a typepad account, a little while ago. I even started the sign up procedure (30 day free trial), but when I got to the section where I had to enter my credit card details I thought again.
Why pay $4.95 a month (not sure what that is in pounds sterling) when I can use good old Blogger for nowt.
For the amount of blogging that I do I can't justify the outlay. Sure it looks good and all but hey who reads it anyway?

Oh what a shame, I am gutted for him :-)

It's not the availability it's the price that's the biggest factor in getting more users on broadband.

This caught my eye and amused me, take a look

Children have been named after big brands as diverse as beauty company L'Oreal, car firm Chevrolet and designer clothes company Armani.
There are even two little boys, one in Michigan and one in Texas, called ESPN after the sports channel.

Oh dear, only in the US, anyway must rush as my daughter's Microsoft and Linux need feeding.

A little known fact for you all.............

Claire Teal sang at our Wedding reception and now she is appearing on Parkinson this Saturday night.

Now whilst I don't wish to take all the credit for propelling her to the top!!! (this was 7 years ago now, no overnight sensation). I very much doubt that without the exposure that she gained from this occasion (Hello magazine were there as well you see), she would have risen quite so far and so fast.

You can purchase her latest album here.

The ups and downs of sporting life(not the magazine though). England are getting a lot of bad press regarding their display against the Welsh. Although it has to be said it was not one of their best, most observers are agreed that Wales played out of their skin and England played.....well....shite, and yet they still won. Regardless of the try count, they won and are in the semi-final. If they play their best against France then I believe they can win.

I have no comment regarding the other.

The top ten worst films ever, ever, ever. Do you agree/disagree with the results? The only one that I would have to disagree with is Vanilla Sky, which although not a great film was much better than the others in the 10.

Are you in the A-team or Friends? or, as I myself have been guilty of on a couple of occasions watching the shopping channels

I have added some more holiday pics, for your viewing pleasure.

For anyone reading this who is old enough to remember watching the 70's cop show 'Starsky and Hutch' please, please do not click here, it is just too sad for words.

Flipping fantastic I tried this whilst on holiday and managed to do 6-8 beer mats. A chap in the pub which is the only location that is sanctioned by the BMFG(Beer Mat Flipping Group) said that he had managed 15.
During the same afore-mentioned holiday Helen managed 17 and was only limited by the number of mats avaliable and the strange looks that she was receiving.

A great example of girl power.
